Head of Marketing & Business Development

Job Title: Head of Marketing & Business Development Contract: Full Time (37.5 hours)
Reporting to: Managing Director Department: Sales & Marketing
Salary: 30k basic +10% uncapped new business (NBT 200k) Location: Head Office, Leeds
Start Date: Immediate


Your Role

We are recruiting an exciting Head of Marketing and Business Development role for a growing marketing partner based in Leeds. It is an exciting time to join the business due to continued growth and the opportunity to become part of the leadership team. Previous experience in the sector would be preferable but is not essential.

The role is to head up the Smarketing team, reporting directly to the leadership team.

You will:

  • Consistently assess the impact of the marketing function in supporting the profitability and brand values of the business.
  • Management of the wider marketing team, including an Executive.
  • Work with the Managing Director and broader leadership team to develop a clear Marketing & BD strategy, supporting other Heads of Department with the development and implementation of a BD strategy for their areas.
  • Take responsibility for the company website, including using your own skills and utilising the wider team to produce engaging content, effective social media and improved digital interactions with clients.
  • Develop and maintain an effective internal communications strategy, improving cross-selling and upselling of services within departments.
  • Actively seek opportunities to gain PR coverage and awards.
  • Assist with general targeting activity assisted by the inbound sales executive.
  • Going to and running prospective client discovery meetings and the signing off of new business proposals.
  • Management of the client feedback programme, and developing new strategies of retaining clients through regular contact.
  • Active management of the company pipeline.
  • Management of the marketing department budget, including analysis of the effectiveness of spend, that can be shared and discussed with the leadership team.

Skills Required
You’ll be a strong marketing and business development candidate, with a good strategic mindset, who wants to be part of the business long-term.

You’ll have long-term experience in a Marketing & Business Development management role, with experience in managing a Smarketing team.

You will
Earn 17.5% commission (achievable earnings of £43,750 PA) with a growing marketing partner working nationwide.

Middleweight Designer

Job Title: Middleweight Designer Contract: Full Time (37.5 hours)
Reporting to: Design Manager Department: Creative Services
Salary: 18-22k Location: Head Office, Leeds
Start Date: Immediate


Your Role

Working as part of the marketing team, you will play a key role in the development and execution of creative marketing campaigns for Excentra and our clients.

We are looking for a passionate, confident, and conceptually-minded team player to support the design team with various projects including both online and offline collateral.

Specifically, our design team help businesses to fulfil their potential through start-up consulting, branding, user-experience design, digital strategy, social media, websites, software design and development, and events organisation.

You will:

  • Create digital marketing collateral for websites, social media channels, emails and apps
  • Develop concepts, identities and visual styles that fit specific target audiences (mainly B2B)
  • Ensure consistency of the visual appearance of all publications and publicity materials
  • Offer fresh ideas – alongside the creation and sharing of concepts in-line with established branding – for feedback and development within the team
  • Manage the print production process from design to finished product
  • Help to scope projects and propose the best solutions based on available budget and resource
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the team’s workflow and skillset

Skills Required
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in graphic design or equivalent. You will have a minimum of 3 years working in the creative industry and you’ll have the ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressured environment.

You’ll have an excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and you’ll be a team player who is a natural collaborator – enjoying working with others to produce the best possible creative outcome. You’ll have a knock-out portfolio of digital design work that you’re proud of and happy to talk through at interview.

Communication is a big part of the job, so you must feel confident to contribute to the entire creative process. You won’t take yourself too seriously and you’ll be excited about working in a growing team where you can make a difference with responsibility early on. You’re a self-starter with boundless initiative.
